"I've found so many cute and affordable things there...and it's a fun weekend activity to do with friends!"
- Riley Burke, fourth year
With live performances, fair prices, vendors, and more, this huge yard sale is everything you could ever dream of. Getting great second-hand items while saving the environment? Yes please!
Usually held the second Saturday of every month at Little Acorn park, you'll have plenty of opportunities to find something you love. What's so fun about it too is that you can be a customer or sell some stuff yourself. This market has been held for several years now, and has helped circulate hundreds of items within the community. At the most recent Thriftopia, there were live performances from artists like The Doors Experience that really bring a Woodstock vibe. You could also get some grub from local restaurants, like Dank Bowls.
Can't make it to Thriftopia? Maybe it's a bit overwhelming? Don't worry, there's thrift markets constantly happening in IV that are much smaller. They are also set up in Little Acorn, but you can find them at basically any park in IV. Sometimes, you'll see them pop up near Pardall tunnel, lot 22, or in the Arbor as well. IV has a huge thrifting community that can fit anyone's needs.
UCSB Dictionary:
